Skinning Xp

I recently was in the mood to spruce up my desktop and I found 2 things that allow you to customize a boring XP scheme for something a bit less mundane.
The 1st thing you need is a tool called Replacer which is a DOS command tool for replacing files in win32 you can get it Here

The second thing you will need is the uxtheme.dll found HERE

Just make sure to get the dll that corresponds with your service pack mine was the bottom one for service pack3 I am running Windows XP on HP Compaq Presario Media Center which is a couple years old.
What you do Is really quite simple if you are comfortable tinkering in your hidden files if not then I don’t suggest to do this as I would hate to see you mess up your system, as for me I’ve always been the kid who takes things apart just to see how it works, now you will have to locate your original uxtheme file in
My Computer>C://Windows>system32>uxtheme.dll and drag it into the replacer tool make sure you have the tool open then drag and drop and hit enter once you have done this then you can go ahead and do the same with the new uxtheme.dll after you hit enter it will prompt you yes or no just key in Y and enter then hit any key to close it down, from there you can now find some msstyles online which I have a few places I like to go the 1st place is skinbase.org
and the second one is GUIStlyes
there are a few place online that have msstyles just google msstles for xp and your sure to find something you may like.
Just to let you know not all of these styles may work its a matter of trial and errror but most important thing to know is you must drop the folder into your theme files located in My Computer>C://Windows>Resources>Themes just copy and paste your new style to this folder and you can then right click your desktop and go to properties> appearance if it is a good one then it should show up in there just click the windows and buttons dropdown menu and apply the one you just setup. hope this helped you out a bit on sprucing up your OS.

I just downloaded rocket dock a fully customizable docking bar and
am really liking it it really is fully customizable right down to the
fonts and outlines of the fonts this is one dock that is sure to be
on my desktop for a longtime.

Need to consolidate all your internet sites into one huge business like card then you need to check out Retaggr I just got done joining and was very simple to do, What you get is a button or widget depends on what you want I chose the add me button from the tools section and made sure I filled in some sites before doing this then just grabbed the code and stuck it up top on my blog go ahead and click it you will see what it does very good idea for the person who has multiple online sites and activities going on like I do.

WordPress Gears?

I was in my dashboard and as usual looking around wondering what does what when I noticed a turbo button up in the right top corner so I pressed it and was taken to a page to install gears?
I said what is gears well apparently it speeds up your page loading on wordpress so we can blog faster according to this article I read here hey I’m all for speed so I got sucked in and installed it very simple installation less than a minute if you want to read more go Here

I am a big fan of collecting things so Its only normal to do this on the Internet too right well I found the perfect picture collection site called Polyvore, What it is, is a bunch of people who are members collect pictures across the internet and create collages with them its really fun and I find some great stuff there as I love using photoshop there is also a bookmark you can use to send any picture to polyvore with its called clipping to polyvore you just click on the picture you like and presto tag it off it goes to your profile in a neat little bunch.

Need to Post a short video well thats 12 Seconds specialty as the name says its short and sweet just found this one through a friends Tweet on Twitter….
Today it looks great for sending a loved one a short
“I Love You” or for the Men and women serving
overseas to post a 12 second hello video.

I’m considering creating one just for the hell of it.
But I probably won’t as my web cam has a mind
of its own and only works when it feels like it or
maybe its all the times weve dropped it ha.

Besides the software is such a memory hog its
really not worth installing it anymore.
